Friday 4th July 2008
The NSPCC are the chosen charity of the year for Niche Catering company, Wilson Vale. Valuing the great work that this charity undertakes, the company are proud to be working to support them throughout 2008 as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility, helping to raise much needed funds for their local dedicated care facility in Ripley.
As one of the initiatives this year to help raise money for this great cause, 2 teams from Wilson Vale’s operational and accounts staff set off to race their way to help by taking part in the Derby 10k and the Derby 3k fun run at Pride Park Stadium.
In the 10k race, Jim Grievson showed his athletic prowess by powering home in 52 minutes with the rest of the team gasping in after that! But a valiant effort was shown by all.
In the 3k fun run, Stuart Brown and his wife Joss were the first push chair across the line. It was piloted by George with commendable performances by Isabel and her daughter Lydia, Liz Skermer and her very fast daughter Evie and Melissa Tarrant.
To date, Wilson Vale has raised over £1000 and hope that this will continue over the coming year.
