Barbakan is a privately owned bakery based in Manchester run by a Stefan Najduch and his wife Joanna – the Barbakan style is based on delicatessens they had seen during visits to Germany and Austria.
Skilled bakers are employed using traditional baking methods and authentic European recipes, using finest ingredients free from artificial improvers or preservatives. Their product range is vast and unique ranging from Rosemary and Roast Potato Bread, Cheese Bread, Tomato Bread to Belgian Chocolate Bread, Organic Rye Bread and even Yoghurt Bread. Their approach to baking is flexible and innovative. All the bread is freshly baked daily. Each loaf is hand moulded and baked on the sole of the oven improving not only the texture of the bread but enhancing its full flavour.
